                Friday, September 15th

B-B-Q on Lake Austin

    The 30th Birthday Celebration opens with a B-B-Q at the three acre home of Robert & Lisa Snider (son Robert is in 11th).  Their beautiful home is located on the shores of Lake Austin.  As you drive to their house you will be able to park in a huge common area in front of their house.  For those of limited mobility, there will be a golf cart ready to ferry you to the back yard of the Snider’s house.  Tables and chairs will be available for seating, along with an area for Volleyball.  Boats will be ready at the dock for those wanting a pleasant boat ride along the shores of Lake Austin.  In case of rain, the location will be Kirby Hall School.

 

     Saturday, September 16th

Performance by the Penguin Players

The Kirby Hall Summer School Players will perform “A Little Princess” an engaging musical adaptation of the classic by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

Lunch at an Austin Landmark

Mr. Kenneth Grover, caterer to Kirby Hall School for over 15 years, will provide a buffet lunch on the Porch of the School between 11:30am and 2:00pm.  The menu includes spaghetti with meatballs, vegetable lasagna, tossed salad, French bread, cheesecake and chocolate mousse pie, and iced tea.

Wine Tasting of Hill Country Wines

Austin’s finest specialty food and wine store encompassing 18,000 sq ft of beer, wine, cigars, specialty foods, cheese and chocolates.  In the specially designed classroom for wine tasting, a wine professional, will be taking you through some of the Texas Hill Country Vineyards by tantalizing your taste buds with their wines.  Vineyards include Becker, Llano Estacado, Fall Creek, Pheasant Ridge, Flat Creek, Alamo and Grape Creek.

Tour of Blanton Museum in Austin

Come and see the newest museum in Austin – the Blanton Museum.  This is the largest university art museum in the country.  With permanent collections include American, Latin American, Italian Renaissance, and Baroque Art,  as well as other exhibitions.  This tour given by B. Dorland (daughter Julie 7th & son Jackson 6th) will be a cultural delight.

Tour of Kirby Hall School

Have a tour of the school.  Explore all the nooks and crannies you knew as a child, pretend you are at school again, see all the changes and improvements, and rekindle childhood memories.

Elegant Evening at Kirby Hall with Canapés, Wine, Music and Auction

Enjoy an evening of good food, excellent company and joyful music.  Babysitting will be available for those from out of town or by special arrangement (contact janet_asghar@khs.org)  The first floor of the school will be transformed into an elegant setting with draped tables, candle light and music from “Pieces of the East” with their unique folk/pop songs.  This evening will also include the opportunity to bid on items from the silent auction

Anniversary Party at the Four Seasons Hotel

This is to celebrate Kirby Hall School and its outstanding achievement by gathering past and present families and friends to share their love and experiences at Kirby Hall.  Bring mementos that you would like to share with us.  A superb luncheon buffet in keeping with the standards of a Four Seasons Hotel.
