Kirby Hall School is thrilled to share that one of our seniors, Sophie C., has been named a 2021-2022 academic scholar for the College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program.
The entire Kirby Hall family extends a heartfelt congratulations to Sophie as being the first student from our school to ever receive this honor.
Recipients are selected based on a specific set of criteria including a GPA of 3.5 or higher, a minimum cut score on the PSAT/NMSQT, and possessing at least one quarter of Hispanic heritage.
Out of the nearly 250,000 Hispanic/Latino students who take the PSAT/NMSQT each year, approximately 7,000 are recognized for their excellence in academic achievement.
In addition to her scholastic accomplishments, Sophie also leads production of Kirby Hall’s weekly morning announcements and contributes to the school’s social media outlets.
The College Board provides recognition to high-achieving members of various demographic communities in order to provide distinction during the college admissions process.
Additionally, this September and throughout October, Kirby Hall is celebrating National Hispanic American Heritage Month with special activities and performances planned in each grade to pay tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively impacted our society.
