2024 marks the Centennial Celebration for Helen M. Kirby Hall, home to our current Kirby Hall School. The historic red brick building “on the hill” opened in 1924 as the one of the first all-women’s dormitories for The University of Texas at Austin (UT).

It was named for Helen M. Kirby, a pioneer for women’s education and the first Dean of Women at UT.

Over the nearly 50 years since Kirby Hall School has been housed here, we have been witness to the natural wear and tear the building has endured over time. For this reason, we are delighted to announce the Helen M. Kirby Hall Centennial Capital Campaign to facilitate a subtle refresh while still staying true to the building’s unique and historic aesthetic.

With the goal of raising $100,000 by the end of this year, we hope to get started on the following updates in 2025:

  • Lighting improvements
  • Flooring replacements
  • Enhancements to learning spaces
  • Modernization to the building’s electrical infrastructure

Donor and recognition levels are designated below:

Your generous contributions will help sustain Kirby Hall into her next century while continuing to function as a busy spot for our dedicated educators and eager young learners.

Thank you.

General Giving

Apart from this year’s Centennial Capital Campaign, contributions towards Kirby Hall School’s General Fund are always welcome and greatly appreciated. These donations are used in a variety of ways to enhance learning, facilities, and our family and faculty experience.

Donations are accepted in any amount and are always tax-deductible. Corporate matching is also available if your employer is interested in making a gift towards supporting early childhood education.

Thank you for your ongoing contributions and investment in the Kirby Hall School community.

Volunteering Opportunities

What are some volunteering opportunities?

We offer different opportunities for families to be involved with the school such as chaperoning on field trips, coming in to give a talk or do a fun activity based on your background/knowledge, or helping out during school-wide events!
How do I find out about what help is needed?

Teachers will be in touch if they need any volunteers for field trips or class parties. Also, be sure to look out for our weekly Friday newsletter to see what is coming up! We will list an needs on this page as well.
